SHOW:  ABOUT  ALL  PROFESSIONAL  M.ARCH

Seldom Seen
San Francisco
2015

The local owners of local-brand, Seldom Seen, decided to bring their digital store to a local-neighborhood space that speaks to their urban prep aesthetic & lifestyle.

This resulted in the reuse of an existing retail space of about 600 square feet, at the epicenter of hip Hayes Valley in San Francisco. We took a minimalist approach to create a blank architecture, where objects of desire floats to the foreground, and space descends to the background. Careful selection of paints and finishes, layered with merchandising strategies

Tapping into a vibrant maker & startup culture of San Francisco, the build out comprised of minimal amount of custom millwork displays, tuned lighting, and off the shelf furniture. This light-touch facilitates the flexible use of the space: evening pop-ups, collaborations with local makers, readings, parties, and impromptu photoshoots.

The store allows the brand to express not only it’s material aesthetic, but more importantly the relationships and lifestyle that is shared with their customers.
